The first of May, or May Day as it is called in many different cultures and traditions, promises that anyone who greets the dawn and caresses their face with the early morning dew will look young and beautiful forever. For this reason, fair maidens of old used to either stay up all night the eve before to meet the morning or would be absolutely sure to be up before the Sun was. In more modern times this ritual has been lost but, as luck would have it, you're reading it here now. In case you overslept, be sure to try this: Rub your hands together until they are hot and then lift your chin so that you are facing the sky. Rub your hands slowly up and down first your neck and then your face itself. Repeat this from start to finish a total of nine times. Ahhh, there you go now, all beautiful and fresh as the -- well -- morning dew!
